2019 has gone by, and its been a flash!
They say you know you are having a good time when time refuses to stand still – and boy! Has this been the case this year past.
Right from shifting to Delhi for a stint with SAI, being at the heart of the Khelo India Games held at Pune, working with the government, to completing my Advanced Mountaineering Course, Scaling my first ever Himalayan Peak, a technical one at that, getting back into racing – 10K, HM and FM distances, traveling to Bhutan, exploring new places, to shifting base to Mumbai, working with another Sports Events company, joining the RRS team as a trainer – its been a power-packed year.
Looking back at it, I have met with so many new people, shared so many experiences, made so many mistakes – it brings a smile to my face – at no point will I look back and say – THAT was a chance I didn’t take! Through this all, I have learnt to understand myself better and listen to the voice that speaks to me from within and most importantly TRUST IT. I did a lot of things that scare me this year:
Walked away from a role that no longer made sense to me, not once, but two times.
Asked out a man I felt attracted to unabashedly.
Reached out to a coach and asked for assistance when I thought I needed help.
Took a chance on another person’s dream.
Finally, decided that it is time for me to live my own dream.
And all of these are personal milestones for me. All of them are work-in-progress. There has been immense learning along the way:
The art of saying “no”
Having an opinion.
Voicing your beliefs.
Walking the talk.
Doing the work.
Imbibing knowledge.
Keeping records.
Learning to trust – in yourself AND in others. Together, we always achieve more.
I think it can all be summed up nicely with gratitude for the experiences, the sense to perceive the experiences, the sensibility to analyze and interpret them, the strength to take decisions, the humility to understand that I make mistakes ( all the time), the ability to take responsibility for the consequences of these decisions, the support of a tribe of friends & family that will have my back if the need arises and finally, for the abundance of love I have around me.
2019 – Thank You.
2020 – Lets do this!
